Baldur's Gate 3: how to craft potions

How to brew potions, exlirs, and other concoctions in Baldur's Gate 3

If you’re going to stay alive in Baldur’s Gate 3’s toughest battles, you’ll need a healthy supply of health potions. Of course, you can find these from random loot and buy them from stores, but to truly keep a healthy supply (pun intended), you’ll need to start making your own. There are plenty of other types of potions, elixirs, and concoctions that you can create to help you in battle too, so it’s worth learning.

We’ll tell you how to brew potions in Baldur’s Gate 3 so you can always be in tip-top condition. Before you get into a fight, make sure you pick the right class from our class tier list. If you’re already mid-adventure, then you can change your class with the help of our guide, and build your party by recruiting characters like Volo, Wyll, and Scratch.

Baldur's Gate 3 Alchemy

From the moment you first take control of your character, you’ll have an “Alchemy” tab in your inventory. Open your inventory with “i” and click over to the third tab along the top. Here you’ll be greeted with a list of everything you can craft at the moment – you’ll learn new recipes along your adventure as you grow your skills and gather new recipes.

By clicking on any potion you’ll be able to see the ingredients it requires, which just leaves you to gather them, at which point you can click the craft button to get as many as you need.
