Genshin Impact 3.6 launches on April 12, 2023, adding a wave of fresh content into HoYoverse’s ever-growing open-world RPG.

Aside from new banners, which bring Baizhu and Kaveh to the roster of playable Genshin Impact characters, this patch is expanding the accessible map of Teyvat once again with a brand-new region, adds new gear in the form of weapons and artifacts, spices things up with fresh events, and continues the stories of Nahida and Layla as well as shining a light on the backstory of Baizhu.

It’s going to be a big update, so buckle up. Here’s everything we know about Genshin Impact 3.6, dubbed A Parade of Providence.

Genshin Impact 3.6: quests

Genshin Impact’s 3.6 update has lots of story content in tow. We get to play through Act II of Nahida’s Story Quest, which is going to lead us to the game’s new region, an area dominated by wastelands and a big oasis, which is in the northwest of the Desert of Hadramaveth in Sumeru. Said to be connected to the grand Khaenri’ah disaster 500 years ago, this quest is sure to give us some valuable insight into the past.

We’ll get to experience some of Baizhu’s history as well, as we gain access to Act I of his Story Quest. The famous pharmacist from Liyue has a painful past and seems to have some differing views from Wangsheng Funeral Parlor’s director, Hu Tao, when it comes to life and death, which we’ll get to explore more of.

On a – hopefully – lighter note, Layla will get a Hangout Quest, allowing us to spend a day with the sleepy Akademiya student.

Genshin Impact 3.6: events

Genshin Impact Sumeru characters.

Akademiya Extravaganza brings together many of the playable characters from Sumeru.

The flagship event in Genshin Impact 3.6 is the Akademiya Extravaganza. Sumeru’s Akademiya opens its doors to all kinds of visitors, inviting them to explore the world of scholarship. This will consist of two celebratory events: the Wisdom Gala and the Interdarshan Championship.

The storyline will focus on the Interdarshan Championship, in which all six of the Akademiya’s houses of scholarship will compete for the top spot – and each one is represented by a character we know, so it should be great fun to see how things work out. Each Darshan will have a minigame for us to play.

  • A Parade of Providence: Crown of Insight, free Faruzan, Primogems, and other rewards.
  • Fulminating Sandstorm: Primogems and other rewards.
  • Brewing Developments: Primogems and other rewards.
  • Overflowing Mastery: Bonus rewards from Talent upgrade material domains.

Genshin Impact 3.6: region

Expanding the traversable areas of Teyvat to a new coastline in the West, update 3.6’s new region (consisting of two areas called Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhkert) is described as follows by HoYoverse:

“Far beyond the grand celebration in Sumeru City, a new area consisting of wastelands and an oasis has been revealed deep within the desert. This area has been damaged by Gray Crystals and corruptive Purple Mists. According to the legends, this place was one of the main battlefields during the Khaenri'ah cataclysm five hundred years ago. Fortunately, visiting Travelers are accompanied on their visit by ‘Pari,’ creatures unique to the oasis. Using their ability to fly, Travelers can reach unreachable areas and thereby discover mysteries.”

We’ll explore this new area during Nahida’s Story Quest, meeting new enemies there as well, such as the powerful Anemo and Hydro Hilichurl Rogues.

New wildlife is also to be found in the new area, such as the Consecrated Fanged Beast and the Consecrated Horned Crocodile – two mutated versions of regular creatures you can find in Sumeru.

There is a new peaceful creature to be found as well, the Tent Tortoise. Slow and gentle-tempered, these armored critters try their best to survive in this dangerous region.

Finally, you can find a few materials not available in other areas of Teyvat: the pretty Mourning Flower blooming on ancient battlefields and Trishiraite, a stone found in the depths that seemingly formed from congealed elemental energy.

Genshin Impact 3.6: bosses

The new Iniquitous Baptist boss.

Genshin Impact 3.6 introduces two additional bosses to the game: the Iniquitous Baptist, which looks very much inspired by the design of Khaenri'ah and the Abyss Order, as well as Apep, a powerful Dendro dragon who will be a new weekly boss. The battle against Apep consists of three different phases, in one of which we’ll have to defend it from other enemies in a cool twist of the usual formula.

Genshin Impact 3.6: artifacts

Two new artifact sets join the fray in Genshin Impact 3.6 and will be available from domains in the expanded Sumeru area.

  • Nymph’s Dream
    • 2 pieces: +15% Hydro Damage.
    • 4 pieces: After Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, or Elemental Bursts hit opponents, one stack or Mirrored Nymph will be triggered, lasting eight seconds. When under the effect of one or more Mirrored Nymph stacks, Attack will be increased by 7%/16%/25% and Hydro Damage will be increased by 4%/9%/15%. Mirrored Nymph stacks created by Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts exist independently.
  • Vourukasha’s Glow
    • 2 pieces: +20% HP.
    • 4 pieces: Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage will be increased by 10%. After the equipping character takes damage, the aforementioned bonus is increased by 80% for five seconds. This effect increase can have five stacks. The duration of each stack is counted independently. These effects can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field.

Genshin Impact 3.6: weapons

Update 3.6 for Genshin Impact introduces a new 5-star catalyst to the game, Jadefall’s Splendor. This is Baizhu’s signature weapon and we’ll update you on its effects here once that information is available.
