Day 3’s task, Basically Blue Creature, in the Genshin Impact Graph Adversarial Technology Log event is all about finding and photographing the blue-colored fauna of Teyvat. Eligible targets are specifically defined as wild creatures, so enemies like Slimes or Hydro Mimics won’t count – you will need to give your best David Attenborough imitation and go out into nature to find animals colored blue.

This Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creature locations guide will lead you to the easiest targets for the required snapshots.

Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creature: eligible animals

First, here is a list of creatures that are eligible for the Graph Adversarial Technology Log Day 3 task:

  • Adorned Unagi
  • Aizen Medaka
  • Bluecrown Finch
  • Blue-Fin Bass
  • Blue Frog
  • Blue Horned Lizard
  • Bluethunder Weasel
  • Cryo Crystalfly
  • Crystalfish
  • Dusk Bird
  • Emerald Finch
  • Flatcrest Fulmar
  • Formalo Ray
  • Hydro Crystalfly
  • Lazurite Axe Marlin
  • Leisurely Otter
  • Lucklight Fly
  • Lunged Stickleback
  • Marrow Lizard
  • Ocean Crab
  • Rippling Heartfeather Bass
  • Snowstrider
  • Snow-Winged Goose
  • Streaming Axe Marlin
  • Sunny Loach
  • Venomspine Fish
  • Violetgold Angler Gull

A lot of these are fish you can find at the game’s fishing locations, making them easy targets for taking pictures – at the same time, they are a bit unreliable since every fishing location’s bounty is randomly determined. Still, if you’re near a fishing location it’s good to try your luck.

Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creature: best locations

For a more reliable trove of blue wild creatures, you have other options.

Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creatures locations guide map of The Chasm.

The Chasm is a good location to visit for this task.

The Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel in the Chasm is one of the addresses recommended for fulfilling this task. This first section of the great underground map contains seven Lucklight Flies as well as one Blue Horned Lizard. Staying in the Chasm, if you teleport to the Underground Waterway and head east or port to the Nameless Ruins and head north, you’ll get to another section with four Lucklight Flies and one Blue Horned Lizard. There’ll also be one Bluethunder Weasel in this particular area you can snap a picture of.

Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creatures locations guide map of the eastern coast of Mondstadt.

You can go crab-hunting on the eastern coast of Mondstadt.

Another easily recommendable location is the eastern coast of Mondstadt, which you can reach by teleporting to the Thousand Winds Ruins and gliding down the cliffs. This beach area houses lots of Ocean Crabs for you to photograph as you stroll along the water.

Genshin Impact Basically Blue Creatures locations guide map of Springvale Lake.

Just like Mondstadt's coast, Springvale is an easily-accessible location for all players.

We’re staying in Mondstadt for another good location. Teleport to Springvale Lake and keep an eye out for the many Blue Frogs in this area, which make for easy snapshots as well. All in all you need just ten pictures of blue animals, so armed with these options you should easily be able to complete this task.

To make all of this easier, make sure to choose a Genshin Impact character like Kirara, Yaoyao, or Sayu, as they won’t startle animals and make them flee, giving you a better opportunity to set up your snapshots.
