Hogwarts Legacy: Where to find Troll Bogeys

Troll Bogeys might be gross, but you'll need them in Hogwarts Legacy

Troll Bogeys: Hogwarts Legacy has them. Hogwarts Legacy has many potions and spellcrafts for you to collect and craft, and many of those will require specific items. For example, you’ll need to start growing Venomous Tantacula and Fluxweed Stem in order to complete several quests for your Potions lessons.

But one of the resources that has been puzzling players the most is Troll Bogeys. Troll Bogeys are exactly what they sound like: snot, or mucus, from a troll’s nose. Grim, but apparently very useful. This is an essential item for crafting the Invisibility Potion.

Make sure to read through our other Hogwarts Legacy guides for everything you need to know about the game, including puzzle solutions, item locations, and more.

If you want to locate Troll Bogeys in Hogwarts Legacy, then your first port of call should be Troll Lairs. Fighting a troll is easily the fastest way to get its bogeys – Troll Bogeys are basically the only thing that these enemies drop – and you can find them in Troll Lairs.

Troll Lairs are pointed out on the map with an inverted triangle icon with a cave/den symbol inside. These icons are all Lairs for different creatures, and you can hover over the icon on your map to see the type of area you’re looking at named in the bottom left. You can find one West of Feldcroft and Rookwood Castle.

As well as hunting them down yourself, you will inevitably encounter trolls throughout the story, and in multiple main and side quests. Ultimately, the troll is one of the only larger boss enemies you’ll fight over the course of the game.

If you’re in dire need of Troll Bogeys (and let's be honest, who isn't?), you may also find some being sold by one of the merchants across the world – if you’re lucky.
