How to play LEGO Fortnite and create a world
After a short but powerful week of hype, LEGO Fortnite is here, with this survival crafting mode offering a whole new take on the Fortnite world, making the kind of game LEGO fans have always wanted. If you’re excited to dive right in we don’t blame you, but if you don’t know how then never fear, as we’re here to help.

How to play LEGO Fortnite

Regardless of what platform you’re on, boot up Fortnite like normal, then in the main menu where you usually select what mode you play, you’ll be able to find LEGO Fortnite listed in the “By Epic” playlist. Select this and you’ll be taken to the LEGO Fortnite screen and – if you have a compatible skin – it will transform into its LEGO-ified version.
Before you can get playing you will need to create a world, and all you have to do is press the button in the usual place when entering a Fortnite match. You’ll be greeted with a quick options menu where you can select between survival or sandbox mode, as well as turn off features like hunger, hostile mobs, or death entirely.
Once selected, you will need to queue briefly for matchmaking, as you have to be online to play this mode - even if playing solo.
