Pokémon Go’s Rising Heroes season, which begins on March 1, 2023, at 10am local time once again features one of those seasonal research stories we’ve become accustomed to. However, Willow’s Wardrobe not only is a Timed Research instead of a Special Research, which means it runs out on June 1, 2023, 10am local time instead of being available unlimited once claimed, the developer also wants you to pay $4.99 to access it.

We have listed all Willow’s Wardrobe Timed Research tasks and rewards here for you, so you can check out if those are worth paying the asked for price to you.

Pokémon Go Willow’s Wardrobe: all tasks and rewards

Willow’s Wardrobe only has one step containing six quests with rewards being a mix of new cosmetics for your avatar as well as an encounter with Melmetal, which has an exclusive move.

  • Catch 10 Pokémon: Willow’s Goggles
  • Catch 20 Pokémon: Willow’s Gloves
  • Catch 30 Pokémon: Willow’s Pants
  • Catch 40 Pokémon: Willow’s Jacket
  • Catch 50 Pokémon: Willow’s Boots
  • Transfer 30 Pokémon: 25x Meltan Candy
  • Complete all tasks: 809 XP, 809 Stardust, and Melmetal with Double Iron Bash
Pokémon Go Willow outfits.

These are the outfits you can get from the Willow's Wardrobe research.

Obviously, it completely depends on your view and situation if those rewards are worth $4.99. It’s about the same price you’d have to pay for a coin bundle to buy an avatar outfit, but of course you can also earn coins completely for free in the game.

The sentiment among the vocal player base is that this ticket is not worth the price. Some users are calling it the worst paid ticket yet, though others understand it as an offer that’s mostly targeted towards people who simply like to kit out their avatar – not a gameplay style that’s very prevalent among hardcore players who tend to share their opinions online.

People are simply a bit put off by Niantic labeling this quest as a season-long research in the mold of previous Special Research stories like the one around Hoopa in 2022.

There was also a leak ahead of this season’s start detailing what’s to come, and these revelations have been fully on point so far. This leak stated that Double Iron Bash on Melmetal will be available during an event later in March as well, so it’s probable that this move won’t stay exclusive to this research or Elite TMs.
