Blood Moon Essence is an important resource in Remnant 2 as it can be used to purchase a lot of powerful items, including the one you need to unlock the Summoner archetype. Thankfully the process to get your hands on a lot isn’t difficult, but it can be a bit tedious, as they only spawn in one area during a Blood Moon event.

We’ll tell you how to start a Blood Moon and how to easily farm Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2.

Remnant 2 gameplay

Blood Moons can only happen in Yaesha, and while they can happen in any region of Yaesha, the Forbidden Grove is the easiest to use. Use the world crystals to teleport to Yaesha and then look up at the sky, if the moon is red, then it’s a Blood Moon. If it’s not, teleport out to any other region (except Ward 13) and come back to reroll the weather – eventually, you’ll get lucky.

Remnant 2 Blood Moon Essence

Once you have a Blood Moon, traverse the world until you find an area with abandoned wooden huts. You’ll likely face enemies there, but they shouldn’t be too tricky. Around these areas, during a Blood Moon you’ll see pink wisps flying in the sky, shoot them down and Blood Moon Essence will be automatically drawn towards you.

After you’ve wiped out all the pink wisps, go through the nearest doorway to another area, then re-enter – this will respawn all the wisps. The Blood Moon may suddenly end, but if that happens you can go back to using the teleport method to get a new one.

You’ll need a total of 66 Blood Moon Essence to get everything available in the Bloodmoon Altar if you were curious.
