One of your long-term goals in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life should be to earn every Blessed Tool. Your primary bunch of tools you start the game with can be swapped out for more efficient versions, allowing you to water and harvest dozens of crops at once, milk cattle from meters away (somehow), and get twice the amount of wool when shearing sheep. Blessed Tools will make the entire game that much easier for you to play and master.

In this guide we’re breaking down how you can earn every Blessed Tool in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. These tools will require you to make some strong bonds with a few of the NPCs, so make sure to stock up on gifts and read through our guide below for everything you need to know.

In order to access the Bulletin Board Request that unlocks each Blessed Tool, you will need both the Golden version of that tool, and a high relationship bond with the NPCs we specify below. All Golden Tools are purchased from Van over time, aside from one, which has a specific requirement.

Blessed Hoe location – SOS: AWL

  • NPC: Vesta
  • Request: A Tool From My Gramps
  • Solution: Rare Hybrid (Any) x 1
A Rare Hybrid is a big ask.

A Rare Hybrid is a big ask.

Vesta is the first character in our list, and you’ll know her as the owner of the local farm that sells seeds for all of your starter crops. She’ll gift you the Blessed Hoe once you complete the A Tool From My Gramps quest.

This quest has no time limit, but you’ll need a Rare Hybrid, which is a combination of two other Strange Crops. You’ll know you have a Rare Hybrid if Vinnie asks you to name the resulting crop. The Blessed Hoe will till a large amount of soil at once.

Blessed Sickle location – SOS: AWL

The Blessed Sickle is best used to harvest loads of crops.

  • NPC: Pui
  • Solution: Golden Relic (Any) x 1
Donating money to Pui throughout the game is the best way to get the Blessed Sickle.

Donating money to Pui throughout the game is the best way to get the Blessed Sickle.

The Blessed Sickle is a gift from Pui. Once you have the Golden Sickle and a high relationship with Pui the Request will unlock. You will need to primarily raise your bond with Pui through donations whenever you see him begging. Giving him 100G a few times per month should raise your bond more than enough by the time you’re ready to receive the Blessed Sickle.

You just need to trade any Golden Relic from the Mine near the waterfall for this Blessed Tool. This can cut up a huge patch of grass and harvest loads of crops at once.

Blessed Watering Can location – SOS: AWL

The Blessed Watering Can makes watering crops a breeze.

  • NPC: Romana
  • Request: A Rare Watering Can
  • Solution: Melosweet Ice Cream
You must give Romana Melosweet Ice Cream for this Blessed Tool.

You must give Romana Melosweet Ice Cream for this Blessed Tool.

For the Blessed Watering Can – arguably the best Blessed Tool for the avid farmer – you’ll need to raise your bond with Romana. Her Request asks for Melosweet Ice Cream, which requires Melosweet, Brown Milk, and Star Milk. Hopefully you’ve already got the full variety of cows on your farm!

Melosweet hybrids are a combination of Watermelon and Sweet Potato crops. You’ll need to plant these in Spring or early Summer. You’ll be able to water the entire large field in just three sprinkles with this can.

Blessed Milker location – SOS: AWL

The Blessed Milker can milk multiple cows at a time, from a distance.

  • NPC: Tei
  • Request: Milker up for Grabs
  • Solution: Cow Butter (S*-rank Only) x1
Tei will trade the Blessed Milker for S*-rank Cow Butter.

Tei will trade the Blessed Milker for S*-rank Cow Butter.

Tei’s Request is simple enough, but has some requirements. First, you’ll need the Processing Room in order to actually be able to produced high quality Butter. Next, you’ll either need S*-rank Milk of any kind, or S-rank Brown Milk, as Brown Milk always gets upgraded a rank when turned into Butter.

If you have a Brown Cow already, this will be easier, as you can feed it Fodder+ repeatedly to quickly raise your milk rank. If another cow already gives S-rank Milk however, it might be easier to feed them Fodder+ to get S*-rank Milk and convert that instead. The Blessed Milker can milk multiple cattle at a time from a long distance, so you can get it all in at once.

Blessed Clippers location – SOS: AWL

The Blessed Clippers will give you twice the amount of wool.

  • NPC: Kate
  • Request: Weird Clippers, Anyone?
  • Solution: Strawberry Shortcake x 1
Kate will give you the Blessed Clippers for Strawberry Shortcake.

Kate will give you the Blessed Clippers for Strawberry Shortcake.

This is a pretty simple Request, too! Once you’ve bonded with Kate you can undertake her Request, which requires a Strawberry Shortcake.

The ingredients for this Dessert are Strawberry, Milk (Any), and Egg (Any), which are by far the easiest requirements of any Request in this list. Serve it up to Kate and she’ll give you the Blessed Clippers, which give you double the amount of wool from each sheep – incredibly profitable.

Blessed Fishing Rod location – SOS: AWL

The Blessed Fishing Rod makes the rarest fish much easier to catch.

  • NPC: Gary
  • Request: Hardly Used Fishing Rod
  • Solution: Rare Fish (Any) x 1
Bonding with Gary is more difficult than any other NPC.

Bonding with Gary is more difficult than any other NPC.

This might be the toughest Request to unlock, specifically because to even get the Golden Fishing Rod you need to have caught 500 fish. That’s quite a big ask! On top of that, raising your bond with Gary is tougher than pretty much any other NPC, as he won’t event accept gifts to begin with.

To raise your bond with Gary you must start by helping him clean Nina’s grave. This takes place at 11am outside Gary’s hut on the 3rd and 8th of each season – the same days Van comes to town. Speak to Gary repeatedly to start the minigame. You’ll need to complete this minigame multiple times in order to raise your bond with Gary enough so you can start gifting him items like fish and food.

Gary will give you the Blessed Fishing Rod in exchange for a Huge size fish.

Gary will give you the Blessed Fishing Rod in exchange for a Huge size fish.

The Request will become available in Year 4 once you have both the Golden Fishing Rod and a high bond with Gary. The Request asks for a “rare” fish, but this is deceptive: Gary actually want a Huge Fish. Each fish has several different sizes, and Gary will accept any Huge Fish. Much easier to catch than an actually rare fish.

I traded a Huge Wakasagi for the Blessed Fishing Rod. The Blessed Fishing Rod makes the rarest fish in the game easier to catch, and will also give you access to a few special scenes by fishing in different places.
