Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse seems to have finally replaced the voice actor for Tighnari, after the character’s previous voice actor was accused of sexual misconduct, among other things. Dataminers for the game uncovered new voice lines for the character, and have seemingly confirmed that Zachary Gordon will be stepping into the role.

Tighnari has, to date, been voiced by Ellliot Gindi, who was accused of sexual misconduct by a number of fans. The voice actor later admitted to and apologized for some of the behaviors laid out in the accusations, and many speculated that he would be replaced, or at least that new lines would be recorded by somebody else.

MiHoYo subsequently confirmed in February that Genshin Impact would replace Tighnari’s voice actor completely, but did not say at the time who would step into the role. The company said that it would be gradually replacing the character’s lines in subsequent updates, and the first of those lines seem to be coming imminently.

The new voice lines were pulled from the preload files for update 3.6, which is due to be released later this week. HoYoverse also confirmed in its blog post about the patch that Tighnari’s voice lines had been replaced, though it did not mention Zachary Gordon by name.

Gordon rose to prominence for his starring role in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films, where he played lead character Greg Heffley. He was in the role for the first three films of the franchise, and has since voiced and portrayed a number of characters across all kinds of media in the years since.

He’s also made an appearance in a number of video game related projects, including voicing a young Ravus in the prequel movie to Final Fantasy XV, Kingsglaive, and in 2020 voiced Twilight Town resident Hayner in Kingdom Hearts 3.

It’s not currently known if all of Tighnari’s lines have been replaced, or just some of them, but since the update is just a few days away, it won’t be long before we know for sure.
