Netflix Games announces Oxenfree 2, LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed and other additions

Streaming service reveals summer additions to its games library

Your Netflix membership already grants you access to over 50 games on your mobile devices, and Summer 2023 will see several great additions to that library. Similarly to Xbox Game Pass and other subscription services, Netflix steadily expands its offerings, though for now you can only play its games on the go.

Here are the titles Netflix Games will add to its library in Summer 2023:

• The Queen’s Gambit Chess – July 25, 2023
• Cut the Rope Daily – August 1, 2023
• LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed – coming soon

Night School / Netflix Games

Oxenfree 2 is being developed by Night School, one of Netflix’ studios, is a narratively-driven adventure game that follows up on the lauded Oxenfree – its story begins five years after the events of the original game. It will launch on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on the same day. The mobile version will be exclusively available through Netflix.

Netflix Games

The Queen’s Gambit Chess is obviously based on the award-winning Netflix series of the same name. It allows players to learn chess, play against their friends, solve puzzles and challenges, and do it all alongside familiar faces and in locations from the show. This game will be a Netflix exclusive title.

ZeptoLab

The classic Cut the Rope has been downloaded over 1.6 billion times and allows players to eat candy, collect stars, and pop balloons with the iconic monster Om Nom. Well, Om Nom’s back and will offer players a new physics-based puzzle daily – exclusively on Netflix.

LEGO

There is no release date for the next Netflix exclusive yet, but LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed is a strategic battle RPG featuring over 50 minifigures from LEGO’s history. You can build your own sets and teams to complete the challenges the game throws at you. It was initially released three years ago on mobile devices.

Newfangled Games

Finally, Paper Trail is a top-down puzzle adventure game that challenges players to fold their way through a varied universe made of paper – and despite not being released yet, it has won several awards. Paper Trail will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch and just like for Oxenfree 2 Netflix will exclusively provide the mobile version.

Netflix has been announced as a partner of Summer Game Fest 2023, so there might be even more announcements coming up – which wouldn’t be a wonder, since the company has lofty ambitions in the video games industry.
