Project Q officially named PlayStation Portal, costs $200

PlayStation Portal is the new handheld device that lets you stream games from your PS5

Back in May, Sony unveiled the then-named Project Q, a device that would let you stream games directly from your PS5 to play in handheld mode. We’ve finally got our first look at the details of the device, the price, and its official name – PlayStation Portal.

For $199.99, you’ll get the main device with an 8-inch 1080p screen with the full capabilities of the standard PS5 Dualshock controller. It will be capable of playing games at 1080p and 60fps, provided the game can do so normally on a PS5. There are some limitations, as you cannot play any PSVR or PSVR 2 game on it, as well as any game that you would need to stream via a PS Plus Premium subscription.

There are also two new audio devices, the Pulse Elite wireless headset, and the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds which will cost $149.99 and $199.99 respectively.

While we don’t have an exact release date or pre-order date for these products yet, PlayStation Blog promises that they will be released “later this year” so we likely won’t have to wait much longer for pre-order news.
