The PS Plus Essential Games for April 2023 have been revealed by Sony. If you’re subscribed to the lowest tier of PS Plus, you’ll be able to download these three PS4 and PS5 games between April 4 and May 1, 2023, and keep them forever. However, they’ll be replaced by other titles after this time period, so you need to grab them while you can.

April’s free games include a rare release day addition, a classic fan-favorite, and a brutal RPG set in a hand-drawn world where rats wage war against frogs.

PS Plus Essential Games in April 2023

  • Meet Your Maker (PS4, PS5)
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS4, PS5)
  • Tails of Iron (PS4, PS5)

Meet Your Maker is what you get after mixing a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with Mario Maker: Players design lethal fortresses and dungeons, which other players attempt to raid. The game will be available with PS Plus at launch, making it a rare Day 1 addition to the service.

Sackboy is a platforming adventure game featuring the little PlayStation mascot, which can be enjoyed alone, in multiplayer mode, or in co-op mode with friends, allowing you to take on more challenging levels which require well-coordinated teamwork to overcome. Make sure to grab the free DLC skins on the PlayStation store, if you decide to download Sackboy.

Tails of Iron is probably best described as a 2D Souls-like set amidst a brutal war between the rat kingdom and the frog clans – and it’s narrated by Geralt of Rivia (Doug Cockle) to top things off.

Make sure to grab Battlefield 2042, Minecraft Dungeons, and Code Vein until April 3, 2023, before the offer to add them to your library for free expires.
