Even if you own the physical Star Wars Jedi Survivor, it looks like you’ll still have to download at least some of the data. Reddit user NightwingXII posted an image of the game’s PS5 version and Xbox Series X version, and you can just make out the tiny white text “Download Required” on the bottom left of the PS5 box.

You can’t see the same text on the Xbox box, but it seems unlikely there would be a difference between the two.

The issue is, perhaps, unsurprising. As some commenters pointed out, most UHD discs only hold 100 gigabytes of data. The file size of Star Wars Jedi Survivor on PC is over 150 GB, so while EA and Respawn haven’t confirmed how much data you’ll need to download, it’ll likely be around 50GB or more.

A similar issue existed with Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, although instead of putting some of the game on the disc, ActiBlizz just put the game’s launcher on there.

However EA handles it, it looks like you’ll want to bear that - and your data cap - in mind before you sit down and expect to jump into the second chapter of Cal’s story right away.
