Tears of the Kingdom takes Link back to the same Hyrule as Breath of the Wild, but he's got a bunch of weird new powers to play around with. That means you can't use Cryonis, which allowed you to raise blocks of ice out of the water. But don't worry, mom says we have Cryonis at home. 

Thanks to the ability to throw items and fuse items to weapons, players have found a genius way of creating ice blocks to cross bodies of water without sapping their stamina. All you need is some Ice Fruit or White Chu Chu Jelly. 

Throw either of those into the water and it'll create an ice platform for you to stand on. Best of all, you don't even need to carry loads of these items around with you. 

Once you've got the first ice block down, you can fuse that block to your weapon and simply poke the water with your popsicle spear.
