Total War Warhammer 3 is one year old, and to celebrate, Creative Assembly is making Immortal Empires free for everyone in the latest Warhammer 3 update. The strategy game’s massive expansion was previously in beta testing, and you had to own all three Warhammer games to access it.

Now, if you own Warhammer 3, you get Immortal Empires with no questions asked and the factions that launched with Warhammer 3. These include:

  • Daemons of Chaos
  • Grand Cathay
  • Khorne
  • Kislev
  • Nurgle
  • Slaanesh
  • Tzeentch
  • Warriors of Chaos

If you want the other races and lords from previous Warhammer games, you’ll need to buy the games or DLC that they feature in.

For example, you can purchase Warhammer 2 to get all of its lords and such in Immortal Empires, or if there’s a specific race you fancy – such as the coastal vampires – you can just buy their DLC and have them added to Warhammer 3’s Immortal Empires without having to buy the base game.

Immortal Empires is a massive campaign that combines all territories, maps, and playable races and characters into one gigantic mode. It’s a significant addition to Warhammer 3, but Creative Assembly isn’t done with the game yet. The announcement trailer also hinted at upcoming expansions, including the Chaos Dwarves slated for release in April and the forces of order debating about how to handle an upcoming threat from the forces of chaos.
