Poison is often an underrated Pokémon type. So often they see heavy usage from each region’s evil team, which often makes them seem like weaker Pokémon than they actually are. However, Poison has some nice advantages, serving as one of precious few counters to Fairy-types without many weaknesses in return.
Plus, they have an overabundance of the color purple, and who doesn’t love purple?

Salazzle

Putting aside the weird stuff in the Pokédex about this female-only Pokémon gathering harems of male Salandits, Salazzle has a cool design and can pack quite the punch. It’s deceptively quick and has high special attack to dole out Poison and Fire-type moves that will catch any opponent off-guard.
Hisuian Sneasel

Sneasel has always been a cool Pokémon, and Hisuain Sneasel manages to completely change the vibe of the design by making it a bit rounder and giving it a new color palette. It makes for a design that looks much softer but still has an edge to it and it’s a massive shame that we never got to see a version of Weavile in this style.
Fezandipiti

As anyone who attempted to catch Fezandipiti in The Teal Mask DLC will tell you, this beautiful bird can be a real annoyance with all the great utility moves it can learn. Despite looking like a bird and having the ability to fly, this Pokémon’s actually a Poison/Fairy-type, giving access to a wide movepool of attacks too. Plus, the design fits in with some of the most elegant bird Pokemon.
Seviper

Many people may prefer Ekans and Arbok when it comes to venomous snake Pokémon, but Seviper is the one we’ve chosen thanks to a more complex design. With long fangs and a massive knife for a tail, Seviper’s design is so much more versatile and vicious-looking.
Naganandel

It would be an insult to not have Veusaur on this list somewhere. This original Grass-type starter didn’t waste any time proving that Grass/Poison is a type combination that not only makes loads of biological sense but can be very effective in battle too. Putting that aside, Venusaur is a lovable dinosaur that has a small jungle growing on its back, and we just want to give it a hug.
Nidoking

It’s hard to separate Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but we chose the king for no other reason than we think it looks cooler. Nidoking’s design is sharper and more aggressive, as well as making great use of the lighter shade of purple on its body. However, the truth is that either of them would be a fearsome partner to have on your team.
Toxicroak

The unfortunate truth is that most frog/toad Pokémon are lame – sorry Bellibolt. Croagunk and Toxicroak pull off the impossible though by giving it a great type combination in Poison/Fighting. It makes for a Pokémon that can act quickly and pack a powerful punch, leading to a slender design that looks ready to strike at any moment.
Roserade

Roserade’s design is easily among the best for a Grass/Poison type. It looks nice and elegant with its bouquet hands and surprisingly large head, only for it to suddenly strike as venomous and spiky whips emerge from under the colorful flowers.
Crobat

Zubat is a nice design for a little bat Pokémon. Golbat is a pretty ugly evolution that gets a pass from most people because it’s a Generation 1 design. Crobat pulls the design back in the other direction and loops all the way around to be cool again. This Pokémon would be terrifying to encounter in the real world. It can move at ridiculous speed and even a slight graze with its wings could cut you up and get poison in the wound.
