Every Mod Bench location in Fortnite Chapter 5

How to use a Fortnite Mod Bench and where to find one

One of the big new mechanics in Fortnite Chapter 5 is the ability to add modifications to certain weapons. All of the new weapons in Chapter 5 can have up to four modifications applied in certain slots. You can’t alter them just anywhere you like though, as you’ll need to track down a Mod Bench to do it, and there are currently only five of them on the Fortnite map.

We’ll go through and tell you where to find every Mod Bench in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 so you can kit yourself out with the best gear possible.

Fortnite Mod Bench locations – Chapter 5 Season 1

Fortnite Weapon Mods

The five Mod Benches currently on the map are unfortunately locked in the vaults protected by bosses. You can find them at the following POIs with their respective bosses:

  • Fencing Fields – Nisha
  • Grand Glacier – Montague
  • Lavish Lair – Oscar
  • Reckless Railways – Valeria
  • Snooty Steppes – Peter Griffin

These bosses aren’t too much of a problem as long as you come into them prepared. If you want to know more then check out our guide on how to get Society Medallions in Fortnite. Alternatively, you could wait until later in a match to head to these locations, where other players will likely have already defeated – or at least weakened – the boss, and opened their vault.

How to apply mods to weapons – Fortnite Chapter 5

Fortnite Chapter 5 Weapons

Once you’re in the vault interact with the mod bench and you’ll be taken to a menu where you can select your guns and apply whatever modifications you want. The catch is that they cost Bars, a limited resource you can only get by eliminating other players and occasionally looting chests. Thankfully, the vaults will have a Rare Chest in them, which is much more likely to give you a decent amount of Bars.

Each weapon has four mod slots, and depending on their rarity, they may already have some installed – though you can still switch those out if you want.
