Fortnite v28.20 patch notes: TMNT event begins in Feb 7 update
It’s been building up for weeks, but the big Fortnite x TMNT event is finally here in update 28.20. With this event comes a whole host of new items, weapons, locations, and skins to Fortnite, all themed around the heroes in a half-shell. There are a handful of miscellaneous updates and changes too though, so we’ll cover all of it to make sure you’re up to date.

Fortnite x TMNT quests – Fortnite v28.20

The countdown for this event is set to end on Friday, February 9, at 2pm PT and at that point a huge wave of quests will be added with all sorts of TMNT goodies in store. We don’t know exactly what these quests will be or the rewards just yet, but they will almost certainly involve using the new TMNT weapons and items in fun ways.
We’ll cover the quests and rewards in detail when they are unveiled, so watch this space.
Shredder and Splinter skins – Fortnite v28.20

We’ve already had the four turtles and April O'Neil added as skins in the items shop – and they’ll be returning for this event – but two new skins are coming in this update. There are going to be two variants on Shredder skins, one closer to his comic book appearance and another, more powered-up version. Alongside that is the mentor of the turtles, Splinter.
All of these skins will have LEGO versions, it’s as yet unclear whether they’ll have to be bought in the item shop or if you can earn them through quests.
TMNT Mythic weapons – Fortnite v28.20
Four new weapons are being added themed around TMNT, and it’s no surprise what they are:
- Raphael’s Sai
- Leonardo’s Katana
- Donatello’s Staff
- Michelangelo’s Nunchucks
TMNT Hoverboard – Fortnite v28.20
Alongside the weapons, a new vehicle has been added in the form of the classic hoverboard used by the turtle team. Like the weapons, this will likely have a chance to spawn at various locations around the map, although there is usually a specific place you can go to purchase them with bars.
New quest pack – Fortnite v28.20
Epic Games
A new quest pack will be available to purchase after this update. One of these releases every season, giving you access to a set of exclusive quests designed to give you more ways to level up, climbing the Battle Pass rankings for more unlocks. It also comes with a set of accessories and a skin.
