Spoiler alert: major story spoilers for the plot of God of War Ragnarok from this point forward.

As you will be aware over the course of God of War: Ragnarok, Tyr is in chains after being imprisoned by Odin to prevent him from triggering Ragnarok.

Eventually you will discover that the Tyr you freed at Svartalfheim was actually Odin in disguise. Odin can appear as anyone, as long as they’re alive, which suggests that Tyr lives, despite his fate being a bit of a mystery.

Once you’ve completed the main story, you will come across a new Favor, The Eyes of Odin.

Go to The Raven Tree through a fast travel gate. Once there, take your second left to find an entirely new location, and discover The Broken Prison Favor. This Favor will see you uncovering Tyr’s true prison. Tyr will be waiting there for you, in what will be their first true meeting.

Once freed properly, Tyr will explore the nine realms, and you will be able to encounter him on his travels if you visit Freyr’s Outpost in Vanaheim and Alfheim, and potentially other locations too.
