Want to bag yourself a Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, or PC? We've got your back.

Hogwarts Legacy is filled with too many mechanics to mention, but it shouldn’t surprise you to find out that you capture – sorry, “rescue” – wild beasts roaming the grounds around Hogwarts, and then place them inside vivariums where you can breed and sell them. This is all for animal preservation, right? Capturing all the beasts in Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most fun parts of the game anyway, so who cares?

Whatever the case, one of the beast-related challenges in Hogwarts Legacy requires capturing a Diricawl, which is a Dodo-like feathered bird. Catching it isn’t any more difficult than rescuing any other magical beast, but they can be tough to find. In this guide, we’re outlining a simple place you can visit in order to catch Diricawls in Hogwarts Legacy.

Make sure to read through our other Hogwarts Legacy guides for everything you need to know about the game, including puzzle solutions, item locations, and more.

Hogwarts Legacy: Where to find Diricawls

Here's a map of the precise location for Diricawls in Hogwarts Legacy.

Here's a map of the precise location for Diricawls in Hogwarts Legacy.

Diricawls, the Dodo-like magical beasts, can be found around the Hogwarts grounds, but their dens are a bit more hidden than most creatures.

Beast dens are highlighted on the map with round icons with a paw symbol inside. You can only discover which beast den you’re looking at by hovering over the icon on the world map and checking the name in the bottom left.

One such location is just South of Lower Hogsfield, on some ruins standing atop a cliff. If you already have a broom, it’s an easy location to navigate to. Just make sure to cast Arresto Momentum to slow down the Diricawls so you actually have time to stuff them into your Nabsack.
