An Instinctive Hero is a new Special Research story available in Pokémon Go for everyone who logs into the game between May 2, 10am local time, and May 8, 2023, 8pm local time. It revolves around Spark, the leader of Team Instinct, and earns you the opportunity to encounter an Elekid wearing a special accessory.

Remember that you simply have to claim the Special Research by logging into the game in the time frame stated above and can then complete it whenever you like – there is no time pressure.

An Instinctive Hero consists of four steps in total, only three of which contain actual quests.

Step 1 of 4

• Make 10 Nice Throws: Razz Berry x5
• Catch 20 Pokémon: Pokéball x5
• Spin 10 PokéStops or Gyms: Exeggcute
• Complete all tasks in this step: Incubator x1 and 1,500 XP

Step 2 of 4

• Match an Egg: Incense x1
• Use 15 Razz Berries to help catch Pokémon: Great Ball x5
• Spin 20 PokéStops or Gyms: Ferroseed
• Complete all tasks in this step: Chansey Candy x20 and 2,000 XP

Step 3 of 4

• Catch 30 Pokémon: Great Ball x10
• Earn 5 Candies walking with your buddy: Pinap Berry x5
• Hatch 3 Eggs: Chansey
• Complete all tasks in this step: Elekid (Spark Accessory) and 2,500 XP

Step 4 of 4

• Claim Reward: Pinap Berry x10
• Claim Reward: Great Ball x10
• Claim Reward: Ultra Ball x10
• Complete all tasks in this step: 2,500 Stardust and 2,500 XP
