How to unlock Sonic Superstars' true final boss

How to unlock Sonic Superstars' secret final boss to see the true ending

If you’ve played any Sonic game since Sonic 3 & Knuckles, then you’ll know that collecting all the Chaos Emeralds in a Sonic game unlocks a secret extra boss fight at the end of the game that you’ll need to beat to get the true ending. However, you may be surprised to find that, upon completion of the game’s main story, no such boss fight appears.

That’s because Sonic Superstars requires extra steps before you can take on the ultimate evil at the end of the game, so we’ll explain how to get the true ending in Sonic Superstars.

How to unlock the secret final boss – Sonic Superstars

Sonic Superstars Secret Boss

If you complete the main story once, you’ll unlock Trip in Sonic Superstars, and get to play Trip’s story. You have guessed it by now, but to unlock the true final boss you must beat the main story, Trip’s story, and gather all seven Chaos Emeralds.

Once you’ve done that, go back to the main menu and you’ll have unlocked the “Last Story”. Select it and you’ll be forced to play as Super Sonic against a massive evil dragon in a rather long fight. You’ll need to keep collecting rings to keep your super form going but don’t worry, as your allies will periodically drop rings into the arena to aid you.

Defeat this boss and you’ll get to see Sonic Superstars’ true ending.
