Being the titular merchant autocrat in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a hard life and you’ll have to face many dangers and challenges on your way to power, wealth, and glory. The CRPG is offering a wide variety of build options for your Rogue Trader as well as their companions, so it’s easy to go down a path that may not help you very much with overcoming some of the more difficult enemies waiting for you in the Koronus Expanse.

Fortunately, we can tell you how to respec in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader so that you can change up your builds and remain flexible enough to deal with anything the forces of Chaos may throw against you.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – how to respec characters

You can respec any playable character in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader as long as they are alive and in your retinue – makes sense, right?

To respec your Rogue Trader or a companion, you need to visit the High Factotum Janris Danrok on the bridge of your voidship. He’s located near the huge holoprojector showing the map of the Koronus Expanse. Engage in a conversation with him and select the following dialog option:

“My retinue and I are in need of training.”

Janris Danrok is the man to talk to when it comes to character respecs.

You’ll then be redirected to a screen showing all of your available characters, allowing you to select the ones you’d like to respec. This resets the chosen character to Level 1, enabling you to freely assign new skills and abilities until you hit their previous level once again.

Select any characters you want to respec on this screen and confirm your decision.

That’s all there is to it! You can use this feature to refine your character builds or simply mix things up and try something new – both are perfectly valid.
