Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury release date and content revealed
Paradox and Triumph Studios have revealed the Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury release date as February 27, 2024. Primal Fury is the third of four DLCs on the current Expansion Pass, bringing additional content into the game for players to spice up their experience with.
Primal Fury, naturally, focuses on the forces of nature. It introduces the Primal Culture, in which you can choose one of seven primal animals to worship – with options like the Tunneling Spider and the Glacial Mammoth being available. This selection shapes the culture’s development and provides certain terrain and damage type affinities, terraforming options, and powerful buffs. A unique quest associated with each animal will be available as well, earning you more rewards.
You can choose two fresh physical forms for your people as well: Lupine and Goatkin – basically allowing you to create species of wolves and satyrs.
The Tomes of Magic roster will see updates as well. The Tome of Fey Mists enables you to cover the battlefield in magical mists to shield your units and provide them with buffs, while the Tome of the Stormborne grants you control over water and lightning. This will provide powerful economic boosts for maritime cities, grant access to strong Stormbringer units, and allow you to transform your armies into Naga.
A nature-focused expansion would not be complete without additional animal units and mounts, of which there will be six and four respectively. Primal Fury will also contain new Realm content for those looking for narratively-driven campaigns and an interface skin to change up the visuals of the UI.
Launching alongside Primal Fury will be the free Wolf Update. It contains sweeping changes to Necromancy, brand-new randomly generated items, and improvements that will allow players to better direct allies during wars.
Find Age of Wonders 4: Primal Fury on Steam, where it launches on February 27, 2024, as both separate DLC (costing $9.99 USD / £8.49 GBP / €9.99 EUR) and part of the Expansion Pass, which also contains Dragon Dawn, Empires & Ashes, and the upcoming Eldritch Realms.
