Diablo 4 open beta tests are firing up soon on PC and console

Brb, going to hell for a bit

Blizzard is running a short Diablo 4 open beta period in March, giving you a chance to experience its campaign, cinematics, and more. The news comes from game director Joe Shely, who announced the beta dates to IGN and showcased a new trailer that shows a customizable character featuring in the action-RPG’s cinematic cutscenes.

The Diablo 4 open beta dates are different depending on whether you’ve pre-ordered the game or not. Those who pre-ordered get early access and can jump into the beta from March 17, 2023, through March 19, 2023. Everyone else – literally everyone, since this is a public open beta – can get a glimpse of what Blizzard has in store from March 24 through March 26. The beta will run on PC, PS5 and PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

If you have access to the earlier beta period, you can play again during the second one and pick up where you left off. Progress won’t carry over to the full game once it releases, though.

Shely said the beta includes the prologue and first chapter, both of which take place in the Fractured Peaks area. You can level your character up to 25, explore as much as you want, and take on all main and side quests available in the area.

Barring any more delays, the full version of Diablo 4 will release on June 6, 2023. If you can't wait for more, check out our hands-on Diablo 4 impressions to tide you over.
