Diablo 4 leads Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass

Xbox’s Sarah Bond promised more ActiBlizz games to follow

Diablo 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on console and PC, and Microsoft promised more Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass in the future. Blizzard’s hit action-RPG will launch for the subscription service on March 28, 2024.

Microsoft made the announcement during an episode of the Xbox Podcast, where division head Phil Spencer outlined the company’s plans for putting Xbox games on PS5 and Switch.

Whether Call of Duty will number among the Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass remains uncertain. However, Xbox president Sarah Bond said that the team plans on putting old and new games from Activision, Blizzard, and King on the subscription platform.

Xbox is usually vague about current Game Pass subscriber numbers, but Bond offered a hard statistic during the podcast: 34 million active users across console and PC.

Diablo 4 first launched in June 2023 after a long, troubled development cycle. While players quickly grew disenchanted with Diablo 4’s – admittedly rather lacking – endgame, though Blizzard added more ways to keep the action going in free updates and seasonal activities. More recently, Blizzard introduced a new companion called the Seneschal, exclusive to Diablo 4 Season 3, which you can build and tweak to your devilish heart’s content.

When Diablo 4 launches on Xbox Game Pass, it will come with all previously released updates and balance changes in addition to the current season. Previous seasonal cosmetics and challenges will not be included, however.
