Disney Dreamlight Valley update adds Monsters Inc and better shopping

We all scream

The latest Disney Dreamlight Valley update, The Laugh Floor, brings Sulley and Mike Wazowski into the fold and adds better shopping options in the life-sim game with some much-needed improvements at Scrooge McDuck’s store. The free update is live now on all platforms, with a bundle of bug fixes, new cosmetic and character customization options, and the chance to buy doors again.

You can check out the full list of fixes on Gameloft's website.

If you haven’t kept up with Dreamlight Valley, that last one is a pretty big deal. Gameloft removed them a few months back, which is a bummer considering the door you start with is properly nasty looking.

The big draw, of course, is the Monsters Inc realm, which introduces new Monsters-themed items and cosmetic options to the valley, adds several new friendship quests, and gives you the chance to bring Mike and Sulley to stay permanently in your bustling little burgh. The update’s other big feature is an expansion for Scrooge’s shop. Gameloft said the store will feature more options every day, including doors.

This update’s new Star Path is appropriately monster-themed, and there’s a new Starlight House premium bundle with a dream style and house fit for Belle. There’s also a new set of Dreamsnap Challenges, so don’t stow your royal camera away just yet.

Finally, you can – at last – change your character’s name from the settings menu. There’s no limit on how many times you can change it, either, so if you don’t like what you put or want to experiment with something else, you’re free to do it.
