Elphelt joins Guilty Gear Strive in next character DLC, 3v3 coming in 2024
Guilty Gear Strive’s next character DLC has added Elphelt as a playable fighter today, developer Arc System Works has revealed shortly before The Game Awards 2023 – possibly as a mistake, since the official post contains a trailer that was still set to "private" at the time of writing.
Elphelt Valentine is a major established character in the setting. Created as an artificial sleeper agent to infiltrate humanity, she eventually ended up not wishing to follow her ultimate directive, namely humanity’s destruction. Elphelt went through many redesigns over the years, and going by the newly released artwork this is going to be the case for her appearance in Guilty Gear Strive as well. Sayonara, bunny ears!

This confirms a leak from a few days ago, which showed rendered images of Elphelt in action.
In addition to Elphelt, the developer released a new balance patch for the game today. The studio also announced that a 3v3 mode would be added to the game in 2024.
Guilty Gear Strive came out for PC, PS4, and PS5 in June 2021 and subsequently on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in March 2023. Strive was intended as a major overhaul of the series’ core mechanics to make it more appealing to a broader audience – a move that worked out. Strive is the best-selling entry into the Guilty Gear franchise to date and was received favorably by critics as well.
It initially launched with 15 playable characters, but the roster is steadily being expanded through a Season Pass model. Season Passes 1 and 2 each added five additional fighters to the roster, Season Pass 3 is currently ongoing and has so far delivered one new character. Elphelt is its second piece of content.
Season Pass 3 will feature two more playable characters, two additional battle stages, the Season 3 Character Color Pack as well as the Season Pass 3 Exclusive Bonus: Season 3 Character Additional Colors #13 to #15.
