The Game Awards

The Game Awards is an annual awards show for video games created and hosted by Geoff Keighley.

While many entities give out industry awards for gaming, Keighley's show managed to become the most highly regarded awards event for games with a similar status as The Academy Awards for cinema or The Emmy Awards for television.

Aside from giving out awards, the show traditionally contains lots of announcements for upcoming games.

Keighley is also the organizer of Summer Game Fest, which has supplanted E3 as the main stage for game announcements between Spring and Summer, and Opening Night Live, which has established itself as the official kick-off show for gamescom.
