Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PC in 2024 with Burning Shores DLC

A complete edition of the game is coming to PS5 and PC

Horizon Forbidden West developer Guerrilla Games revealed on Wednesday that the second main game in the Horizon series will be coming to PC in early 2024.

In a post on the official PlayStation Blog, Horizon Forbidden West Game Director Mathijs de Jonge announced a Complete Edition of the game, which will also arrive on PS5 on October 6, 2023.

The complete edition will include the Horizon Forbidden West base game for PS5, along with the Burning Shores DLC, which released in April 2023, and a number of digital goodies.

Most of the additional items, such as the digital soundtrack and artbook, photo mode extras, as well as the in-game outfits for Aloy, were included with the base game's Deluxe Edition when that one launched back in February 2022.

Here's a full list of items included in Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition:

  • Horizon Forbidden West base game for PS5
  • Burning Shores DLC for PS5
  • Digital soundtrack
  • Digital art book
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Vol. 1: The Sunhawk digital comic book
  • Special pose and face paint in Photo Mode
  • Carja Behemoth Elite outfit and short bow
  • Nora Thunder Elite outfit and sling
  • Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike piece
  • Resources pack

The complete edition won't have a PS4 version as the Burning Shores DLC was developed exclusively for PS5, to take advantage of the current-gen console's capabilities.

The first game in the series, Horizon Zero Dawn, which was released in 2017, received a complete edition towards the end of its launch year. Back then, PC gamers had to wait more than three and a half years since the game's initial release on the PS4 to get their hands on Zero Dawn.

Now, with Horizon Forbidden West, the complete edition for PC is coming just two years after PS4 and PS5 owners first got to play it, and only a few months after PS5 players are getting the full package.

The Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition PC release continues Sony's recent strategy of releasing PlayStation exclusives over to PC and shortening the time PC gamers need to wait until a game is ported.

Previous PC ports of PlayStation games, like 2016's God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn, have garnered 'overwhelmingly positive' reviews on Steam, with the only exception being The Last of Us Part I, which launched with texture quality issues and bugs on PC, and is still shown as having 'mixed' reviews on Steam.

Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition will be priced at $59.99 and is coming to PS5 first on October 6, 2023, and then to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store early next year.
