Rebel Wolves confirms Dawnwalker as title of its debut game
Polish development studio Rebel Wolves has responded to rumors surrounding its upcoming narrative-focused dark fantasy RPG, confirming that the game is called Dawnwalker.
“Usually we don't comment on rumors. However, since we've heard something through the grapevine... Yes, we are working on Dawnwalker,” the company stated on social media.
It included a piece of concept art with the announcement, which shows a sword-wielding figure with claw-like hands that either emerges from a shadowy fog or is turning to dust. Crimson and black dominate the piece, though some yellow symbols above the character’s head stand out. They show scales stylized as a cross with the sun and the moon on either side – the title, the character, and the symbolism seem to be pointing towards vampires (or something like them) being involved.

Since most of the brains behind the new title were likely deeply involved with The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, the bloodsuckers must have been on their mind when coming up with ideas for their debut title as a studio, though that may be reading into things too much.
Founded by creatives that split off from CD Projekt RED, the studio behind The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, in 2022, Rebel Wolves has been very quiet and vague about its project other than emphasizing a focus on the narrative aspects as opposed to sheer scale of the world. It seems to be in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and has a triple-A budget – largely thanks to a strategic investment by NetEase Games, one of China’s biggest gaming companies.
Rebel Wolves recently lured another high-profile creative over to its side from CDPR, hiring Cyberpunk 2077’s quest design director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz to be the creative director for Dawnwalker.
