Update (July 27, 2023): As reported by Tez2, who closely monitors all things Rockstar, the developer's website has been updated with a new reference in the games list that names a Red Dead Redemption (Rockstar Presents Version)

This might confirm earlier hints around a remake of the wild west game you can find below.

Original (June 28, 2023): That notorious menace of video game publishers’ marketing departments, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea (GRAC), has struck again: Gematsu reports that the board has given a new rating for Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar’s Wild West RPG from 2010.

All three previous editions of the game released in South Korea – the original launch, the Undead Nightmare Collection, and the Game of the Year Edition – have been rated separately by GRAC, so this indicates a different version of the title becoming available on the market.

This previously unknown edition of Red Dead Redemption was given the classification number CC-NV-230615-001 on June 15, 2023. The “NV” indicates that the product will be a console title, though it doesn’t necessarily deny the existence of a PC version. Red Dead Redemption never got a PC port, unlike its sequel.

GRAC’s overview page for the game reveals that content modifications were reported on June 27, 2023, which usually impact the decision the board makes for the age rating of a game. Red Dead Redemption was already rated suitable only for ages of 18 and above, which still seems to be the case according to the website, which lists depictions of nudity, sexual intercourse, extreme violence, crime, gambling, drugs, and scenes that might induce disgust and fear.

The new Red Dead Redemption rating doesn't state a platform yet, but the age rating is already fixed.

Rockstar has not officially confirmed any Red Dead Redemption remakes or remasters to be in development, but the South Korean authorities are pretty notorious for publishing information on ratings before games have officially been announced, so there seems to be something in the bush.

Even GRAC did not list a release date or platforms for the game, though, so at this point we can only speculate about the exact nature of this version of Red Dead Redemption.
