Star Wars Outlaws pre-order materials spotted at GameStop

Looks like the game is on schedule for its 2024 launch

Ubisoft / Disney

Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world RPG, Star Wars Outlaws, is officially in for a release in 2024 and the publisher announced that a story trailer for the game would debut on April 9, 2024, indicating the beginning of a larger marketing campaign. That trailer may also kick off the game’s pre-order campaign, as promotion material for this has already been spotted at GameStop.

Though there is no release date to be seen on the poster, a call to “pre-order now” takes center stage. This material’s discovery has led parts of the community to speculate that Outlaws may actually be out sooner than expected – all previous signs indicated a Fall 2024 launch.

With a pre-order campaign around the corner, fans are definitely hoping to see an exact release date at the end of Tuesday’s story trailer, though. It’s quite common for Ubisoft to begin pre-order campaigns with a “Story Trailer” – examples include The Division 2, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, it’s not always guaranteed that a launch date accompanies the trailer.

Recently, it’s been announced that the game would come to GeForce NOW at release and that it would feature various NVIDIA technologies such as DLSS 3, Ray Tracing, and Reflex in order to improve visuals and performance.

Coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Star Wars Outlaws is set in the time between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the story of Kay Vess, an outlaw trying to get clean of her scoundrel past – but to do so, she must pull off her biggest and most dangerous heist yet.

At her side is an adorable and useful pet companion called Nix, who is portrayed by Dee Bradley Baker, whom Star Wars fans will recognize as the voice actor for all the Clone Troopers in Dave Filoni’s animated shows. She also gains the comradeship of a former Separatist BX Commando Droid to assist her. With familiar planets and faces – such as Tatooine and Jabba the Hutt – as well as newly introduced locations and characters, there’s plenty of stuff for Star Wars fans to look forward to.

For a chance to catch the Star Wars Outlaws story trailer and potentially its release date as soon as possible, you can bookmark the premiere on YouTube – it’ll go live at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 6pm CEST on April 9, 2024.
