Total War: Pharaoh has been confirmed as the next historical entry into Creative Assembly’s strategy game series. It targets a launch in October 2023 and lets players dive into the final stages of the Bronze Age in the Eastern Mediterranean with Egypt, Anatolia, and Canaan as theaters of war. Our predictions from after the game leaked on the developer’s website were pretty spot on in this regard.

Eight factions will be playable at release:

  • Egyptians: Ramesses, Seti, Tausret, Amenmesse
  • Canaanites: Bay, Irsu
  • Hittites: Kurunta, Suppiluliuma

Each faction leader will have a different playstyle. They also don't seem to be represented as single-entity units on the battlefield, which is going to be welcome news for many fans. Featuring new dynamic battles, Total War: Pharaoh changes the game by having sandstorms, fire, and outbursts of rain directly impact what’s happening on the battlefield.

Total War: Pharaoh will be available on PC at a price of $59.99 / £49.99 / €59.99 for the base version. A Deluxe and Dynasty Edition will be available as well. They contain the game’s soundtrack as well as planned faction and campaign packs that will expand Total War: Pharaoh in the future. Those who pre-order will be rewarded with some cosmetics for their faction leaders and their bodyguard units. An early access weekend is included as a pre-order bonus as well.

Aside from the traditional single-player content, Total War: Pharaoh will offer two-player co-op and head-to-head campaigns. It'll include various new ways of customizing your campaigns as well, such as random start positions for all factions.
