While 2023 has already been an extraordinary year for video games, a few big releases are still coming up. Among them is Ubisoft’s long-awaited Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which is going to allow players to explore the world of James Cameron’s record-breaking movie franchise all on their own, bonding with and fighting alongside Pandora’s flora and fauna against the forces that seek to exploit it.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was originally announced in 2017 and is being developed by Massive Entertainment, a Swedish development studio belonging to Ubisoft, with the help of several other Ubisoft branches. It was initially set for a 2022 launch, but was subsequently delayed.

As we’re getting closer to the game’s release, it’s time to answer the most frequently asked questions regarding the title, so here’s everything you need to know about Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – price and editions

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora comes in four different editions:

  • Standard Edition
  • Gold Edition
  • Ultimate Edition
  • Collector’s Edition

All three editions come with the base game and, in case of being pre-ordered ahead of launch, the Child of Two Worlds Pack, which consists of a character and weapon skin.

The Standard Edition is available for $69.99 USD on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Gold Edition

The Gold Edition comes with one additional piece of content, the Season Pass. The Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Season Pass unlocks two future story packs – The Sky Breaker and Secrets of the Spires – as well as an additional quest called Familiar Echoes and another cosmetics bundle.

Price: $109.99 USD on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition includes all content from above, but adds another two packages of content: the Sarentu Heritage Cosmetic Pack and Sarentu Hunter Equipment Pack. The latter contains exclusive gear and a weapon, so it’s not entirely cosmetic. A digital artbook is included as well.

Price: $129.99 USD on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Collector’s Edition

The Collector’s Edition contains the Ultimate Edition as well as a 35cm statue of the main character, a 128-page physical artbook, a notebook, a premium steelbook, a blueprint for the MPA suit, a lithography set, and a numbered certificate.

Price: $229.99 USD on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Season Pass availability

At the moment, Ubisoft has not stated whether the Season Pass or its contents will be available separately from the Gold Edition, Ultimate Edition, and Collector’s Edition at some point.

This could be a deliberate sales strategy to drive people into buying the more expensive versions of the game by instilling a fear of missing out.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Steam availability

Unfortunately for PC gamers, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will not be available on Steam, at least for launch. Ubisoft is selling the PC version exclusively through its own digital storefront.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – Game Pass availability

Some Ubisoft titles are available through Ubisoft Connect for PC Game Pass subscribers, but it doesn’t look like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be one of them.

The only subscription service Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available on right at launch is Ubisoft Plus, which will feature the Ultimate Edition for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Luna.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – multiplayer modes

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will feature a co-op multiplayer mode for up to two players. This is an online mode and doesn’t support couch co-op gameplay. Ubisoft has not communicated whether co-op would feature crossplay and let players on different platforms dive into Pandora together.

There is no classic PvP multiplayer mode featuring more than two players at launch.
