Most of Diablo 4’s quests don’t need an explanation – you travel from place to place bashing heads and exploding corpses while grinning in a big, dumb smile. Then you come across Secret of the Spring, a quest with a map marker and a cryptic riddle. Here’s how to solve it.

Once you’ve reached the map marker in Secret of the Spring, it’s simply a case of using the right emote – you need to tell the spring to wait.

Once you do that, a chest will appear and you can loot it to complete the mission.

The “Wait” emote isn’t on your quick menu by default, however, so you need to customize your emotes and add “Wait” so that it’s accessible.

• Open the emote wheel
• Hit “customize”
• Add “wait” to your quick access menu
• Use the “Wait” emote

Diablo 4 how to emote

To emote on Diablo 4 on PC, you need to hit the “E” key. If you’re on console, hold Up on the D-pad to emote in Diablo 4.
