HoYoverse

End any bar brawl quickly and efficiently with the best Honkai: Star Rail Gallagher build – the man doesn’t just mix and serve drinks, he’s got the necessary punch to keep order as well. Following The Abundance, this 4-Star character dealing Fire Damage is not your usual healer. Though his abilities restore HP for allies, his kit is a lot more offensively-minded than those of most units of this Path.

Gallagher’s Skill, Special Brew, immediately heals the targeted ally for a set amount of HP – very straightforward.

His Ultimate, Campagne Etiquette, inflicts the Besotted status on all enemies for two turns along with dealing Fire Damage based on his Attack to all of them. Besotted increases Break Damage received by affected enemies. Allies attacking Besotted enemies heal a set amount of HP. His Ultimate will also enhance his next Basic Attack, changing it from Corkage Fee to Nectar Blitz.

Nectar Blitz deals Fire Damage to a single target and reduces its Attack for two turns. Thanks to one of his Traces, Gallagher can trigger the healing effect from attacking Besotted enemies for all allies when using Nectar Blitz, essentially making it an additional heal if timed correctly. Hitting this perfect timing is made easier by yet another Trace, which advances his turn forward 100% after using his Ultimate.

Pulling additional copies of Gallagher allows you to raise his Eidolon Level. Eidolon 1 allows him to regenerate Energy upon entering battle and increasing his Effect Resistance. Eidolon 2 gives his Skill a cleanse – this is super important – and increases the target’s Effect Resistance for two turns. Eidolon 4 extends the duration of Besotted for another turn. Eidolon 6 boosts his own Break Effect and Weakness Break Efficiency.

Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: best Light Cones

Naturally, a 5-Star Light Cone would do the best work on Gallagher – and as is the case for many Abundance characters, Huohuo’s Night of Fright tops the ranking thanks to its additional healing capabilities.

However, you may not want to give such a powerful tool to a mere 4-Star character. Fortunately, there is a very free-to-play-friendly option tailored to Gallagher’s kit: What Is Real? is found in the Forgotten Hall shop and can be purchased with the currency gained for free from participating in the periodic challenges of this game mode. This 4-Star Light Cone increases the wearer’s Break Effect, which means a boost to Outgoing Healing in Gallagher’s hands, and enables the wearer to restore HP to themselves after each Basic Attack. This Light Cone allows Gallagher to keep himself in the fight and focus his Skill on his allies.

Best Light Cones for Gallagher:

  • Night of Fright (5-Star)
  • Time Waits for No One (5-Star)
  • What Is Real? (4-Star)
  • Warmth Shortens Cold Nights (4-Star)
  • Post-Op Conversation (4-Star)
  • Hey, Over Here (4-Star)
  • Shared Feeling (4-Star)

Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: best Relics

Abundance characters usually favor HP and Outgoing Healing as stats on their Relics, but with Gallagher’s kit a third important stat pops up: Break Effect. As always, Speed is a vital attribute to keep in mind – especially if you’re going with a Relic choice that requires a certain amount of Speed to trigger its advanced effect.

Best Relic Sets for Gallagher:

  • Thief of Shooting Meteor (4) – +16% Break Effect, +16% Break Effect and wearer regenerates 3 Energy after inflicting Weakness Break on an enemy.
  • OR: Thief of Shooting Meteor (2) + Watchmaker, Master of Dream Machinations (2) – 2x +16% Break Effect.

Best Planar Ornaments for Gallagher:

  • Talia: Kingdom of Banditry (2) – +16% Break Effect, +20% Break Effect when the wearer’s Speed is 145 or higher.
  • Fleet of the Ageless (2) – +12% maximum HP, +8% Attack for all allies when the wearer’s Speed is 120 or higher.

Prioritize the following Relic and Planar Ornament stats for Gallagher:

  • Head – HP (Primary), Break Effect %, Speed, HP %, Effect Resistance %
  • Hands – Attack (Primary), Break Effect %, Speed, HP %, Effect Resistance %
  • Body – Outgoing Healing % (Primary),  Break Effect %, Speed, HP %, Effect Resistance %
  • Feet – Speed (Primary), Break Effect %, HP %, Effect Resistance %, HP
  • Planar Sphere – HP % (Primary), Break Effect %, Speed, Effect Resistance %, HP
  • Link Rope – Energy Regeneration Rate % (Primary), Break Effect %, Speed, HP %, Effect Resistance %

Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: best teams

Gallagher, as a healer, has for basically any team composition. However, he particularly excels at supporting parties that rely on debuffs to deal as much damage as possible, since he can assist with generating those.

Acheron relies on debuffs being inflicted on enemies to charge up her Ultimate, so having a third support on the team who can assist with this task is going to be a substantial boon to her.

Another example of this principle would be a team based around Dr. Ratio. More debuffs mean a higher chance for him to unleash follow-up attacks and deal additional damage. There is some good synergy between Ruan Mei and Gallagher as well, since the former can boost everyone’s Break Effect.

Honkai: Star Rail – Gallagher: ascension materials

Here’s everything you need to know to get Gallagher ascended to the maximum level and upgrade all of his talents. Gallagher requires the following ascension materials to get to level 80 in addition to the necessary XP:

  • Credits x246,000
  • Dream Collection Component x12
  • Dream Flow Valve x13
  • Dream Making Engine x12
  • Raging Heart x50

You can collect Dream Collection Components, Dream Flow Valves, and Dream Making Engines from enemies encountered on Penacony or its Calyxes as well as the Simulated Universe. You can create or exchange them through the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express, too. Dream Collection Components are one of the base materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a steady income of the material.

Raging Hearts are dropped by the Stagnant Shadow (Dewlight Pavilion) on Penacony or gained through exchange. The best source of Credits are the Bud of Treasures Golden Calyxes in the Great Mine, Artisanship Commission, and The Reverie (Dreamscape).

Gallagher requires the following materials to upgrade his combat abilities and Traces:

  • Credits x2,400,000
  • Dream Collection Component x28
  • Dream Flow Valve x42
  • Dream Making Engine x42
  • Alien Tree Seed x12
  • Nourishing Honey x54
  • Myriad Fruit x105
  • Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster x12
  • Tracks of Destiny x5

For the materials already mentioned, check above. Alien Tree Seeds, Nourishing Honey, and Myriad Fruits can be farmed in the Crimson Calyx (Fyxestroll Garden). As usual, you can create the high-level materials by investing lower-level materials in the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express.

Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster is a rarer material only gained from the Echo of War (Seclusion Zone) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.
