How to unlock every job in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth

Here's how to unlock and change jobs in the latest game in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is out now, and there’s a lot of depth to the turn-based RPG, especially in its combat. Like Yakuza: Like a Dragon before it, Infinite Wealth takes inspiration from a bunch of different JRPGs of times past, and one of the systems that features heavily is the job system.

Infinite Wealth’s job system is the game’s implementation of a class system, with each job bringing a host of different moves, abilities, and stats for different situations in combat. Switching jobs can help bring a character that might otherwise be lacking in battle up to scratch, so it’s always worth seeing what options are available for your characters.

There are over two dozen jobs in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and while some of them are unlocked right away, others require a little bit of work, and it’s not immediately clear how to change jobs in the first place. This guide will teach you everything you need to know about how to change jobs, and what all of the available jobs in the game are.

How to change jobs in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Unlike Yakuza: Like a Dragon, it takes quite some time to unlock job switching in Infinite Wealth, and you’ll be playing for hours before you get the option to do so. Even if you have DLC jobs unlocked, and despite Ichiban changing his own job fairly early on, it’s not possible to switch further until you reach a certain point in the story.

Job switching is unlocked in Chapter 5 of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and thankfully it’s impossible to miss. Near the start of the chapter, you’ll come across a place called Alo-Happy, and be prompted to do a quick little substory to learn about the business, which is effectively a travel agency which sells experiences.

You'll unlock job switching when you visit Alo-Happy.

Once you’ve visited Alo-Happy for the first time, you’ll be able to undertake these experiences, like surfing, fire dancing, and parasailing, provided you have high enough social stats (and a bit of cash) to start them. Completing them is easy, you just have to watch a short cutscene, and then you’ll unlock the relevant job. Other jobs are unlocked upon returning to Yokohama, but most have some other requirements in order to be able to use them, such as having a high enough bond level.

Jobs can be changed at the changing booth at the main Alo-Happy shop, or at a number of locations across Honolulu and Yokohama.

Male jobs in Infinite Wealth

Jobs are segregated by gender in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, much like the game before it, with men having a much wider set of jobs available and thus a much wider range of roles in combat. Each character comes with their own default job – for the men, Ichiban’s Hero, Tomizawa’s Cabbie, and Kiryu’s Dragon of Dojima are all excellent starting jobs – but the unlockable jobs are mostly all good choices for one character or another.

Female jobs in Infinite Wealth

Unfortunately, women have much fewer options for job changes in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, given there’s only three playable women compared to seven playable men. Still, there is a decent range of jobs available, from spellcasters and buffers to fast and hard hitters.
