Pikmin 4 is filled with hundreds of pieces of treasure for you to collect and convert into energy, but possibly the most tempting of all of them is the Gold Bar. It is exactly what it sounds like – it’s a Gold Bar. And compared to the Pikmin, it’s massive.

The Gold Bar requires 1,000 Pikmin to carry, which is, obviously, far higher than the total number of Pikmin you can have in the field. Though it is totally possible to bring it back to your ship, and all you need to do is follow this guide.

In this guide we’re breaking down everything you need to get the Gold Bar as quickly and easily as possible in Pikmin 4’s Primordial Thicket.

How to collect the Gold Bar – Pikmin 4

The Gold Bar is called the Golden Vaulting Table in the index.

The Gold Bar – known as the Golden Vaulting Table, part of the Dazzle Series, once collected – can be found high up in the Primordial Thicket, and as we’ve already mentioned, it requires the strength of 1,000 Pikmin to actually pick it up. There are two possible ways to collect this Gold Bar, but both of them require Purple Pikmin.

First, you can use 100 Purple Pikmin. Each Purple Pikmin has the strength of ten, so this will add up to exactly 1,000.

Oatchi can help carry it.

Alternatively, if you’re frugal, you can use just 90 Purple Pikmin, giving a strength of 900, combined with a fully upgraded Oatchi, who can have a strength of 100, to add up to 1,000. Of course, the fastest way to collect the Gold Bar would be to combine Oatchi and 100 Purple Pikmin, for a total strength of 1,100. Gotta get it home fast, right?

Depending on your game progress, the fastest way just might be grinding in a cave. The Subterranean Swarm cave in this area is the best place to farm Purple Pikmin – check our list of Pikmin 4 cave locations for the details on that. There are two Purple Candypops in the first cave sublevel, which you can use to spawn ten Purple Pikmin, there’s another Purple Candypop on sublevel three.

Look for the Purple Candypop flowers and throw Pikmin inside to transform them into Purple Pikmin.

That’s 15 Purple Pikmin you can earn from running through three sublevels, at which point you can exit the cave from the menu, and repeat until you have enough Purple Pikmin. You won’t even need to fight any of the enemies in the cave. Even if you start with zero Purple Pikmin, you can get more than 100 in seven trips, each of which will take two to three minutes at the most – as long as you ignore foes.

You can also get the Purple Onion from a late-game Dandori Challenge.

Otherwise, you can earn the Purple Onion. You can get this from the Trial of the Sage Leaf which can be found in the Rescue Command Post – for more details on this, make sure to check our Onion locations guide.

Once you have the Purple Onion, you can simply command Purple Pikmin to take pellets and defeated foes back to the Onion to increase their population. Simple as that.

With 100 Purple Pikmin, getting the Gold Bar is easy.
