Pokémon Go Wish Granted: all Masterwork Research tasks
A new Masterwork Research is available in Pokémon Go for everyone who’s purchased a ticket to GO Tour: Hoenn – be it the Las Vegas event or the Global event. Wish Granted will allow you to catch the Mythical Pokémon Shiny Jirachi and has a bunch of other great rewards in store, such as additional Candy for Hoenn’s Legendaries.
Just like every Masterwork Research, Wish Granted won’t be quick or easy to complete – only those with great determination can reach Jirachi.

Shiny Jirachi will be the main prize for completing this Masterwork Research.

Pokémon Go Wish Granted: Masterwork Research tasks
This Masterwork Research consists of six stages, each of which contains a number of tasks and rewards.
Step 1 of 6
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally from the Kanto region: 385 XP
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally from the Johto region: 385 XP
- Catch 385 Pokémon originally from the Hoenn region: 385 XP
- Earn the Gold Hoenn Medal: 30x Ultra Balls
- Complete every task in this step: 10x Kyogre Candy, 10x Groudon Candy, 10x Rayquaza Candy
You can earn the Gold Hoenn Medal by catching 80 Pokémon originally from the Hoenn region, so this task will auto-complete if you’ve already achieved this. You’ll have to start completing the other tasks from scratch.
Step 2 of 6
- Have 10 Best Buddies: 1x Poffin
- Earn a heart with your buddy 20 days in a row (Global): 1x Poffin
- Complete every task in this step: 3,850 XP and 3x Rare Candy
“Have 10 Best Buddies” is another task that draws from your lifetime stats, so if you already reached this status with ten Pokémon this will auto-complete. You can make a Pokémon your best buddy by feeding it snacks, playing with it, and making snapshots of it – in short: you’ll need to earn as many hearts with them as possible to level your friendship up.
It’s worth noting that the second task in this step only requires a 14-day streak in the Las Vegas version of the ticket.
Step 3 of 6
- Catch 5 Kecleon (Las Vegas) / 10 Kecleon (Global): 1x Incense
- Spin a PokéStop 14 days in a row (Las Vegas) / 20 days in a row (Global): 1x Incense
- Complete every task in this step: 3,850 XP and 3x Rare Candy
The first players from the Las Vegas event have reached Step 3 of the Masterwork Research, requiring them to catch Kecleon. We've also added the requirements for those with the Global ticket now, which are a bit tougher than for players with the Las Vegas ticket.
Step 4 of 6
- Obtain a Lucky Pokémon (Las Vegas): 1x Lure Module
- Make 100 excellent throws (Las Vegas): 1x Lucky Egg
- Complete every task in this step: 3,850 XP and 3x Rare Candy
Step 4 for the first Las Vegas ticket holders is finally at hand. You'll need to flex your throwing skills to get those 100 excellent hits, but that might actually be easier than fulfilling the first task: getting a Lucky Pokémon.
When trading with a friend, you have a chance of about 5% that the Pokémon you get becomes a Lucky Pokémon, which increases based on how long that Pokémon has been in the trainer's collection: the older it is, the higher the chance. Lucky Pokémon have higher base stats and cost less Stardust to power up.
Step 5 of 6
- Catch 500 Pokémon (Las Vegas): 1,000 Stardust
- Catch a Pokémon 7 days in a row (Las Vegas): 7x Golden Razzberry
- Reach Level 40 (Las Vegas): 4,000 Stardust
- Complete every task in this step: 3,850 XP, 3,850 Stardust, and Shiny Jirachi
Step 5 contains yet another time gate – and a pretty huge one at that for newer players. You'll need to reach level 40 by collecting lots of XP and catch 500 Pokémon. You also need to maintain a week-long streak, but that shouldn't be a huge issue. At least you'll finally receive Shiny Jirachi once you're done with these tasks.
Step 6 of 6
- Claim Reward: 1x Star Piece
- Claim Reward: 1x Lucky Egg
- Complete every task in this step: 3,850 XP, 3,850 Stardust, and 20x Jirachi Candy
