Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: how to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu
Among the many legendary Pokémon added in the Indigo Disk DLC is the star of Sword and Shield’s Isle of Armor DLC, Kubfu. This adorable martial arts teddy bear can be caught and trained up to be a solid partner, however, what you really want is to have it evolve into Urshifu. Like in Gen 8, it requires one of two unique items, and there is a way to get your hands on them in Scarlet & Violet.
We’ll explain how to get the Scrolls of Waters and Darkness so you can evolve Kubfu.
How to evolve Kubfu into Urshifu in the Indigo Disk Pokémon DLC
Kubfu is one of the many legendary Pokémon returning in the Indigo Disk DLC.

You have two choices of how to evolve Kubfu, as you can give it either the Scroll of Waters to get Rapid Strike Style Urshifu, or the Scroll of Darkness to get Single Strike Style Urshifu. Aside from a different battle pose, the difference between the two is their signature move.
Rapid Strike gets a Water-type 25 base power move that hits three times, with all three hits being guaranteed critical. Single Strike instead gets a Dark-type 80 base power attack that strikes just once and is also guaranteed to be critical. In Sword & Shield, they also had different Gigantamax forms, but that isn’t possible in Scarlet & Violet.
How to get the Scroll of Waters and Scroll of Darkness
To get the scrolls you need to head to Porto Marinada in western Paldea and participate in the auctions there. The tall woman in a black top and glasses exclusively sells items associated with legendary Pokémon, such as the elemental plates that change Arceus’ forms.
The Scroll of Waters and Darkness are two of the items that she can offer at auction, so you’ll need to check the auctions regularly to see if either of them are on sale.
