Assassin’s Creed Red is one of the most highly anticipated entries into the series due to feudal Japan being its setting – and let’s be honest, it doesn’t get much more assassin-y than ninjas. A writer at Ubisoft has posted (and in the meantime deleted) a piece of artwork on LinkedIn that seemingly showcased the playable character from Assassin’s Creed Red.

This will shock you, but just like every other protagonist of the series they’re wearing concealing robes hiding much of their head, though they’re held in a deep blue instead of white this time. The Asian-looking character seems to be female, sporting dark hair a bit longer than shoulder length and at least one facial scar below their right eye.

The artwork's mood is similar to this screenshot's from the initial reveal trailer.

The potential assassin naturally wields a katana in a reverse grip in their only visible hand, which hopefully means they’re wielding a second one in the other hand – otherwise a reverse grip wouldn’t make any sense. A samurai-looking vambrace is the only other part of their get-up visible on the image, held in the same blue as the robe.

In reference to the game’s codename, Red, the background is held in a blood red color with a pagoda-shaped building visible in the background. A Japanese-styled Assassin’s Creed logo is visible in white as well.

There you have it – a description of the probable main character of Assassin’s Creed Red, who very much looks like every other series protagonist aside from their ethnicity. Everything else – such as if Red is going to feature only this female assassin as the main character of if fans will get to choose between a male or female character – would be speculation at best.

Assassin’s Creed Red is probably going to be released in 2024, though nothing official has been announced yet in this regard.
