The power of horny compelled them

Last week, the developers of Cult of the Lamb announced the Sins of the Flesh content update to launch early next year and, the internet being internet, both the name and artwork of the pack evoked some funny ideas – everyone quickly took to calling it the “sex update” for the game.

While the developers played into it for a while, they quickly clarified that they weren’t actually going to add a sex mechanic to their game. Until they made a critical mistake: They started wavering. Yesterday, Massive Monster put out a post on social media, saying that if they hit 300,000 followers by the end of 2023, they’d actually go ahead and do it after all. With about 20,000 followers to go, this certainly was a tall order… but, the internet being the internet, the power of horny made it possible to complete this goal in just two hours.

From meme to reality: Sins of the Flesh will become the "sex update" after all.

Massive Monster conceded defeat, announcing it would indeed add sex to Cult of the Lamb at “the very beginning of 2024.”

The programmers were absolutely thrilled by the news, apparently.

Cult of the Lamb launched in August 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It’s a roguelike game mixing combat similar to Hades with some elements from the base-building genre, as players not only have to hack and slash their way through dangerous dungeons, but need to manage their own cult and its followers as well.

Published by Devolver Digital, the game features a humorous tone and a beautiful art style to boot. And, soon enough, a sex mechanic – to breed more sacrificial followers, presumably.
