Amanda Lee, better known as AmaLee, has been announced as the voice actress for Jingliu, an upcoming character in Honkai: Star Rail. Lee is an American singer, VA, and YouTuber – she has over two million subscribers on her channel and often covers popular songs from anime series and video games. Lee has a VTuber persona known as Monarch as well, which she uses to do streams.

Jingliu is a leaked Honkai: Star Rail character, but made her official debut in an animated short on May 10, 2023, which dove into the background of another upcoming character, Jing Yuan. One day later, AmaLee took to Twitter to announce that she’s the VA of Jingliu: “Honored to announce that I’m the English voice of Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail.”

Lee actually posted the announcement two times, the first time accidentally using a splash art of the character, which seemingly wasn’t allowed to be published just yet, so she had to re-do the post. This little mishap is good news for players, however, as that should be the final confirmation that Jingliu will actually become playable later on.

Lee has extensive experience as a VA, having played characters in anime series such as K-On!, One Piece, Overlord, Grimoire of Zero, and My Hero Academia.

She’s also had notable roles on video games before, voicing figures in Fire Emblem: Heroes and Octopath Traveler 2. She was nominated for the Best Voice Artist Performance award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2023 for her work in My Dress-Up Darling.

Currently, it's unknown when exactly Jingliu will make her way into the game. She's not among the update 1.1 characters, so it's likely going to be a few more months.
