HoYoverse, the company behind Genshin Impact, has announced a preview livestream to show off the features and events players can expect to find in the release version of Honkai: Star Rail. The space fantasy RPG is currently undergoing its final closed beta test to gather feedback and iron out the last technical issues. Our own Honkai: Star Rail first impressions were very positive with the game’s humor and tone standing out.

Honkai: Star Rail’s preview livestream will take place on March 24, 2023, at 7:30pm UTC+8. That equals 4:30am PT / 7:30am ET / 11:30am GMT / 12:30pm CET. You’ll be able to watch the show on Twitch as well as YouTube.

It’s very likely that we’ll finally get an official release date for Honkai: Star Rail during the stream, which rumors say will be sometime in April. From what we’ve seen in the beta, the game is not in dire need of any huge changes in the areas that will be playable at launch, so an April release date doesn’t seem too far fetched at all.

On the other hand there was quite a bit of a time gap between the final beta for Genshin Impact and the game’s release, with version 1.0 launching two months after the end of a month-long beta test.

Honkai: Star Rail is a free-to-play game that’s set to be released on PC and mobile devices. It contains light exploration mechanics and lots of turn-based combat in the traditional JRPG mold.

Just like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail is a gacha game, which means you can draw new characters and weapons on a random basis using in-game currency. It uses the same system as HoYoverse’s flagship game and will feel familiar to any Genshin Impact players in general – the structure of the UI, rewards, events, and progression builds on what HoYoverse learned in Genshin Impact.
