Little Nightmares 3 is coming in 2024, developed by Supermassive Games

Little Nightmares 3 is set for release in 2024, but with new developers taking the reigns

Among the many updates made at Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2023, we got the reveal of a new game in the Little Nightmares series.

This horror-based puzzle platformer was originally launched in 2017, with the game receiving good reviews and a lot of popularity on platforms like YouTube and Twitch for its creepy aesthetic and horror elements. A sequel followed in 2021 and received a similar level of praise and attention, so it's no surprise that publishers Bandai Namco are producing a third game, set for release in 2024.

Interestingly, it isn’t being made by Tarsier Studios, the original developers of the series as they were recently acquired by Embracer Group. Instead, it is being made by Until Dawn developers, Supermassive Games. While this studio didn’t develop the original versions of the previous title, they did produce the Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares 2, which was released exclusively on current-gen consoles, so they have experience with the series.

The short trailer shown on Opening Night Live showcases the creepy aesthetics that the series is known for better than ever, with this being the first time co-op play is a feature, so fans of the series are excited about the game’s 2024 release.
