Arwen will soon join the line-up of playable characters in EA’s mobile game Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth. Representing the faction of Rivendell and wielding a one-handed sword, she’s a solid support character for your party thanks to her abilities.

Arwen’s basic attack, Guarded Slash, enables her to grant the Defensive status to the most wounded member of her party alongside dealing damage to a targeted opponent. Deadly Earnest, her first special ability, dispels positive status effects on enemies, weakening them for future attacks as well as damaging them. Her second special ability, The Evening Star, dispels negative status effects on the two party members with the most banes on them, while providing Regeneration to the entire team.

Arwen’s passive Ability, Light of Rivendell, has a 50% chance of providing each party member dropping below half their maximum HP with the Nimble status effect – this only works one time per battle for each character.

Overall, these abilities make her a dependable support character, who is able to cleanse and heal her fellow squad members, keeping them operational. Her offensive dispel is fantastic as well, as it disrupts the enemy’s build-up and robs them of valuable buffs.

Deadly Earnest in particular is great once you’ve leveled it up a bit more, as it grants Arwen additional fuel for her Turn Meter when she is buffed herself. Whenever she has five boons and you activate Deadly Earnest, you may immediately get another turn with her to keep up the pressure – or take more pressure off your hard-pressed team.
