Pokémon Scarlet and Violet update will fix Walking Wake and Iron Leaves egg glitch
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will receive another update in April 2023, Nintendo has announced. The focus will once again be bug fixes, as there is still a lot to do in regards to technical issues plaguing players despite two patches already addressing some problems.
One particularly frustrating issue for players has been a glitch involving the two brand-new Paradox Pokémon introduced on Pokémon Day 2023, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. They represented the past and future versions of the Legendary Pokémon Suicune and Virizion.
They are only available in Tera Raids until March 12, 2023, and each player may only catch a single specimen.
Here’s the problem: Anyone who was playing Pokémon Scarlet and Violet when the latest patch went live at the end of February could be affected by a glitch that made it impossible to actually catch these new Paradox Pokémon. Instead of the full Pokémon, players would catch an egg, which they can’t hatch.
This upcoming update, which is scheduled to arrive late in April according to Serebii, will enable affected players to battle Walking Wake and Iron Leaves once again so that they can catch the Pokémon for real.
This has not been the only issue frustrating players recently. A bug making players lose their entire save data, which was likely introduced in the last patch, is leading to rampant paranoia among the player base, even though it’s extremely rare. Many people are afraid of playing and getting their progress wiped. Though a workaround has been discovered, everyone is waiting on the developers to provide an explanation and a solution for this problem, as the cause remains a mystery for now.
