Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are the latest games from Nintendo's RPG series. As with other Pokémon games, players take on the role of a Pokémon trainer who must prove their worth at various gyms around the world.
Before doing so, they must battle and collect Pokémon, and train them up to make them strong. Once the player has completed the single-player portion of the game, they can trade and battle with other players online.
Online games aren't new to the series, but the Nintendo Switch makes the process easier than ever before.
Scarlet & Violet are also sandbox games, featuring a fully open world that you can explore on-foot or by riding various Pokémon.
