Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC release date has been revealed
Originally released on June 11, 2021, on PS5, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is finally making its way onto PC on July 26, 2023. Nixxes Software is handling the PC port in collaboration with Insomniac Games, who created the PS5 version.
Lauded for its visual spectacle as well as the seamless integration of new characters into the titular duo of Ratchet and Clank, Rift Apart stands at a great score of 88 on review aggregation site Metacritic, where it has earned a user score of 8.5 as well – both scores indicate “generally favorable reviews” of the game.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sold 1.1 million copies in just over a month and was nominated for several big awards in 2021, although it missed out on most of them in the end.
It’s a relatively short single-player title that’s widely regarded as a great tech demo of the PS5’s capabilities. Naturally, the PC version shines with ray-traced reflections with a variety of quality levels to choose from and newly added ray-traced shadows for natural light in outdoor areas. Nixxes is also adding support for triple-monitor setups and ultra-wide monitors, optimizing the title’s cutscenes and gameplay for 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9 resolutions.
Framerates will be unlocked and upscaling technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS and Insomniac Games’ Temporal Injection will be supported. All kinds of controllers can be used to play the game in addition to mouse and keyboard. Users of Sony’s DualSense controller will benefit from haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will launch on PC on July 26, 2023, via Steam and Epic Games Store – pre-orders are now available and contain some additional weapons and armor sets.
